Vanessa Oliva attended the University of California Los Angeles, and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and a Minor in Classical Civilization. Prior to beginning her legal career Vanessa held positions with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art as well as a prominent art gallery in Culver City. In 2012, Vanessa chose to leave the Art world to pursue her legal career. She graduated from Southwestern Law School with her Juris Doctor in May 2015, and was admitted to the California State Bar in October 2016.
Prior to joining SLP, Vanessa focused her career in Civil Litigation, gaining invaluable experience on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants in real estate matters, including foreclosure defense, insurance defense, general liability, and personal injury. In addition to her work as an Associate Attorney at SLP, Vanessa also works with the Immigrant Defenders Law Center as a Pro Bono attorney representing Unaccompanied Minors seeking asylum in the United States. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Mexican American Bar Association.
As an associate at Strategic Legal Practices, APC, Vanessa focuses her practice in the area of consumer protection, and prides herself in maintaining honest and frequent communication with her clients to ensure a strong attorney-client relationship. In her free time, Vanessa enjoys visiting museums, hiking, practicing yoga, and traveling.
